As the president of California Blacksmith Association I would like to tell you a little about us.
We are a diverse group of men and women whose common interest is a passion for metal.
All members are dedicated to keeping the tradition, art and craft of blacksmithing alive.
We are a non-profit, volunteer organization.
Started in 1977 by a group of 17 Northern California blacksmiths, CBA has developed into a thriving group of over 650 blacksmiths and enthusiasts.
Every year CBA offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for members.
Workshops, classes and conferences are all available with the central purpose of sharing information. Annual events include:
Spring Conference, Oktoberfest, Hammerfest, Wayne’s World and weekend workshops.
Our membership includes professional smiths as well as hobbyists.
We are proud to represent artists, creators of functional, ornamental iron, custom hardware, tools and knives, and farriers.
We at CBA welcome anyone interested in blacksmithing.
A one year membership is $45/$55 and includes: a subscription to “California Blacksmith,” our bimonthly magazine filled with photos and articles on tips, techniques and inspiration; access to conferences, monthly classes and weekend workshops; a library of books and DVDs; and online access to our magazine archives.
